Undergraduate Curriculum and Policy Committee
Sub-Meet and Confer
Tuesday, April 18, 2006, Morris Hall 215, 3-5 p.m.

Business:

1. Course Repeat Policy
Policy reviewed and motion below was MSP.
Motion: To amend the language in the original proposal for further review. Warren will revise and send the revised proposal to the UCAP-SMC for review and comments. The revision will address the issues: 1. changing it from four course repeat to repeating any course two times for a total of three times taken; 2. the last grade earned will be official grade earned; 3. violation of the policy will allow course instructors to administratively drop students; 4. two variations of the proposal will be distributed focusing on how to address Withdrawals. Review must be completed by April 25. A special submeet will occur on April 25 to address the revised policy.

2. Bulletin Copy Update
Any bulletin changes involving curriculum or policy issues must go through curricular review, with the exception of:
•    Personnel Changes
•    Typographical Errors
•    Introductory material

3. Working Group: Programs without a College Home
Short- and long-term proposals have been submitted for review by the working group. The issue will undergo further discussion in the future.

4. Curriculum Proposal Database Update
Database still in progress

5. Admissions Policy reviewed and discussed

6. "Batching" Curriculum Proposals
Only appropriate for broad policy changes and broad course pre-req changes. All curriculum proposals must still be separately filed.
