NOTES
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14,

 
Present: Karen Willette-Murphy, Maria Bevacqua, Brian Frink, Mark McCullough, Barbara Theirl, Elaine Lilly, Terry Flaherty, John Frey, Joan Roca

 
1. The committee agreed to recommend funding for applications receiving "Final Scores" of 3.7 or higher (refer to document distributed by Dr. Lilly, dated 11/10/03).  Dr. Frey will send the committee's written recommendation to Vice President Olson.

 
2. The committee discussed some of the questions about IRBs that arose during this review cycle (What do we do with FRG applications received without attached IRBs?) It was suggested that we might improve the situation by (1) talking with applicants from our respective colleges before the FRG deadlines and (2) clarifying the IRB information on existing FRG forms.  Dr. Flaherty offered to look the IRB wording on existing FRG forms, documentation, etc.


3. A suggestion was made to form a subgroup to look at FRG policies, procedures, guidelines, forms and web information.  Those interested in serving on this subgroup should contact Mark McCullough.  If you have issues, topics or questions you want the subgroup to consider (Are laundry expenses fundable? What is seed money?), please forward them to Mark McCullough.
