Present: Susan Coultrap-McQuin, Mark Johnson, Rose Marie Ley,

Yueh-ting Lee, Diane Solinger, Kellian Clink, recorder
1. Minutes were approved from
November 17.
2.
Several documents have been distributed since we last met, including a summary
of comments expressed at the open forum or through the medium of the Master
Plan documents on the University's webpage Last meeting's minutes were used
as a mechanism to index those comments. Thank you to Kellian Clink.
3.
Susan Coultrap-McQuin distributed a first draft of a memo that attempts to
summarize very succinctly what we heard from forums and the web. We all suggested
revisions to the memo and possible areas for recommendations including:
pedestrian/parking campus; recalculating space; faculty and
other office spaces, new classroom recommendations, and a recommendation
of what values could/should be used to determine criteria for prioritization.
The committee will consider a second draft, including some recommendations
to be made at our next meeting.
We agreed that this memo would be posted on the website with the comments
collected (to be made available electronically, names erased, from the website).
4. We also spoke of the
need to communicate back to the faculty, students, administration, and the
city about the process. Dr.
Healy is charged with communicating to residents and the city.
After discussion, it was agreed that another memo will be created
and distributed broadly on campus dealing with the next steps of the process.
Included in the distribution will be the Campus Buzz, Student
Reporter, the University's website about the Master Plan, MSU announcements,
Joe Muggli of the Student Senate, Union heads.
The next steps include Mark Johnson, who has been acting as
liaison between the university and the planning consultants, getting materials
back to them in December. The Planning consultants assured us that they can
give us revisions by Jan/February.
Susan Coultrap-McQuin and Kellian will draft such a memo which will
go out to the entire campus.
Respectfully submitted,
Kellian D. Clink
