1/
We discussed the General Education Equivilents for pre-1998. Gretta
Handke is
owed a huge vote of gratitude for all her work on this. Everyone will
please
review to see if they can anticipate any problems with these.
2/
We discussed the diversity curriculum proposal. We discussed how
international
study could count for a diversity graduation requirement. We talked
about the
cross-over between Categories 7 & 8 in general education and the
proposed
diversity graduation requirement. The language could be
strengthened
about the knowledge that students are expected to gain. When interested
parties
have agreed to the proposal, there are many aspects that will need
discussion
and firming up, including transferability and other registrar-related
issues.
The group that came up with the proposal is hopeful of having approval
on the
basic proposal and then can start to move on the procedures necessary
to
facilitate the proposed change of diversity graduation
requirement.
3/We
agreed to study some pending policies by email and through the
discussions
between the two co-chairs of the Sub Meet: Ron Nickerson & Brenda
Flannery.
