Approved Minutes

March 7, 2007

Present: Brandon Cooke, Ron Nickerson, Jim Rife and Gretta Handke

There was a discussion of the General Education presentations that will be made in the CETL Certificate Programs. These will begin right after Spring Break.

There was a discussion of Categories 7 & 8 and the low rate at which syllabi have been submitted for review. Gentle reminders will be sent out.

Course Proposal 343 was reviewed. The proposal was for the addition of Mass 112, Mass Media and Children to Gen. Ed. Category 5. The proposal was denied because the focus was narrow rather than broad and there was no evidence that the tools and methodology employed in social sciences would be used.

There was unanimous support for the administrative drop policy for students who missed the first day of class.

There was discussion of a proposed policy change concerning access for students with disabilities. It was not clear what the changes were. So this topic was tabled for clarification.
