FACULTY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 23, 2002
The FA Faculty Development Committee (not Sub-meet) met at 11 a.m. Sept.
23, 2002, in 138 Nelson Hall. Members present were B. Bergman, S. Mullins,
R. Nickerson, M. Rossow and C. Veltsos.
Guests were Stewart Ross and Rene Hersrud.
Rossow reminded members a FacDev sub-meet is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 11
to examine Summer Teaching Scholar applications. Faculty tentatively agreed
to meet at 11 a.m. Nov. 4 in Nelson 138 to come up with faculty recommendations
for the Nov. 11 sub-meet. Rossow also reminded members of Promotion/Tenure
Workshop set for 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 27.
Ross (CETL coordinator) and Hersrud (Academic Affairs) sought advice from
faculty about ideas for CETL activities. Hersrud will ask administration
if it will support establishment of two annual teaching awards for junior
and senior faculty. If administration says OK, FacDevCmte will meet at 11
a.m. Oct. 21 in 138 Nelson Hall to help set up guidelines.
