The FIS Committee reviews applications for Faculty Improvement Grants ( Article 19A of the IFO/MnSCU Agreement ) and makes recommendations to the administration. The committee also reviews sabbatical applications ( Article 19C ) and makes recommendations to the administration. The chairperson serves on the FA Executive Committee, reporting on committee activities and carrying back any EC recommendations to the Faculty Improvement & Sabbatical Committee.

Meeting Schedule:
In the 2003–2004 Academic Year, $44,000 will be distributed in Faculty Improvement Grants. Following the application deadlines for faculty improvements grants (For the 2003–2004 Academic Year: September 12, 2003; December 5, 2003; and March 19, 2004), the Committee meets to evaluate the applications and to establish its recommendations to the Administration. During the Fall Semester each year, the Committee considers sabbatical applications and makes recommendations to the Administration. Sabbatical applications are due in departmental offices by September 15, 2003.
